When people call us at Bakeris Roofing, about 80 percent of the time it’s because the roof needs repair due to a leak or other serious issue. Clients don’t want to have to wait a long time before having their issue fixed, and that’s why fast response time is part of our Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

 

Of course, there are certain times of year when we are extremely busy. The weather often dictates our schedule as well. During rainy season, we might experience unexpected weather delays. Whatever the reason, we will call our clients 24 hours ahead of time to let them know if anything has come up. There’s simply no excuse for any company to wait until the last minute to let their customers know of a possible schedule issue.

 

Our customer care representatives are dedicated to keeping the lines of communication open. We know how much our clients value it when we keep them in the loop. No matter what the industry is, it’s extremely important to pick up the phone and talk to people so they know exactly what’s going on. (Or depending on the person’s preference, email or text.)

 

We’ll be sure to let the client know right up front what our schedule looks like. If our schedule is full for the next week or two, we let our clients make the decision of whether they can wait or not. (If they don’t mind us stopping by on a Sunday, we’ll do so if there is an opening in our schedule.)

 

This is one of the important topics that we cover during our ongoing training. We need to keep the lines of communication open, let our clients know what’s going on, and give them all the information that they need to make an informed decision. One of the worst things a company in the service industry can do is to fail to communicate adequately. It can be a nightmare for customers, and it can quickly lead to anger.

 

Our clients are extremely understanding—they know that we are humans, things can come up, and we may have issues to deal with. That is exactly why communication can make such a huge difference. While unexpected situations are understandable, lack of proper communication is never a valid solution.
