“Helping the Homeowner by Cooperating with Insurance Adjusters”
Bakeris Roofing works with adjusters and not against them. We’re there to help the homeowner when it comes to insurance work, and we do so by acting as a second pair of eyes on the roof. Adjusters have a tough job to do—they have a lot of documentation to update, and the homeowner is usually upset due to damaged property. Some contractors will try to take advantage of the situation. Bakeris Roofing isn’t like that.
While we might have some disagreements with the insurance adjuster, we will work them out. The homeowner, adjuster, and we are human, and things can get missed. That’s why we all need to work together. That’s one of the reasons why Bakeris Roofing has been in the business for 24 years. The success we have is because our ultimate goal is to help the homeowner.
If the relationship with the insurance adjuster would get contentious, it would not be beneficial for the homeowner. Their stress level is already very high, and sometimes there are contractors that fight against the adjuster. The adjuster gets to the point where they just give up. All negotiations can just break down at that point.
Adjusters give the homeowner a claim agreement sheet when they make an insurance claim. It clearly says in the agreement that the number is just an estimate. There is room for negotiation if the contractor sees things that have been omitted. Some contractors try to stick it to the insurance company, and the adjuster can become fed up with that.
That’s why we like to cooperate with adjusters. We hear that adjusters like to work with us at Bakeris Roofing, as well. They have said that it is because we don’t make the process a big fight—we know that adjusters get stressed out, too. They might not even want a contractor to show up and make things worse. Instead of distracting them, we are there to make the process easier. It’s not the contractor that had the insurance claim, it’s the homeowner. We need to never forget why we’re actually there, and that’s to help the homeowner.
