Roof Issues With Recently Purchased Homes

What if you moved into your home a few years ago, you don’t know when the roof was installed, and you’re starting to notice some issues? Just give Bakeris Roofing a call. Of course, as a new client, we will visit your home and do a full inspection (we do have an inspection fee). If we think the shingles are faulty, we’ll remove one of the shingles to see if the manufacturer is printed on the back. Of course, there are some manufacturers who don’t have their names printed on the shingle. We’ve installed so many shingles over the years that we have a pretty good idea of some of the shadow brands that are out there.

If there is no manufacturer printed on the back of the shingle and there is no associated paperwork, this is where you would run into a bit of a problem. Otherwise, you have the manufacturer that you can pursue the claim with. Keep in mind, the claim process still might not be a sure thing. Maybe the homeowner filed a claim after they noticed the issue, pocketed the money, and never fixed the problem. For the most part, however, people tend to be fairly responsible with replacing the roof with the claim money they received. Another potential outcome is that the roof is fifteen or more years old and it’s way past the manufacturer’s warranty. These are real possibilities, and it would mean that you would have to explore other options.

At Bakeris Roofing, we try to do everything we can to take the stress away from the homeowner and make the process as easy as possible. Let’s face it: it can become a very emotional situation when we practically see the dollars escaping from our hands. There’s nothing more frustrating than having issues with a fairly new roof and having the manufacturer drag their feet. Let the experts at Bakeris Roofing help you with the claim process instead. If we install a roof for your home, we offer extensive guarantees to make sure that you’ll be stress-free.

If you’re a homeowner and you want to make sure your roof is in great condition for years to come, give us a call at (515) 967-8199.
