Dogs are Important in Our Lives

I need to get the Iowa Legislature to get more laws passed so you can take your dog to the pub or to the restaurant. We should take a lesson from California or Colorado, where they’re a bit more liberal with their laws. Do you know how many homeowners we go visit where a large part of our roofing plans factor around dogs? The whole roofing schedule is decided upon whether the homeowner will be at home to keep their dog from getting anxious. There are also some times when they have to schedule a babysitter for the dog, so we have to take that into consideration too.

We’re probably going to start asking homeowners if we should schedule certain dates because they have a dog. In one of my previous blog posts, I talked about a sales class that I went to for training. This is one of the things that inspired me to consider how important dogs are to homeowners. Dogs are important to me, too. We have two dogs in the office that love to come into work every day. If I’m not around, my wife will let them out. Because my house is behind our shop, they’ll make a beeline down to the office so they can get to work on time.

Dogs do a multitude of things for you, and they only want your love and friendship in return. They are your best friend, they never talk back, and they calm you down. (Let’s not leave cats out in this discussion, either. If you have a cat, you know how important they can be in your life.) When we go to someone’s house, we usually carry around dog treats. Of course, we’ll ask if it’s all right if we give them out.

I love dogs, and that’s why I think we need to get the laws changed here in Iowa so they can accompany us to more places.
