Ronald McDonald House Status Update

The Ronald McDonald House is our flagship sponsor that we’re giving to and trying to become more involved every month. We’ve signed up to volunteer for cleaning every other week inside the house and meet with people to help them find things. That’s one way we’re contributing as a team. We’ve also split up to use our chef’s skills and prepare meals for the families staying there while their kids are fighting cancer at Blank Children’s Hospital next door.
When Dawn and I went there, they taught us how to answer phones, do some things on the computer, and do some cleanup and household chores. As it gets a little warmer, there will be more stuff for us to do. They have grills and perennial gardens outside, and we’ll probably also be able to use our skills as carpenters. They always need simple repair work done.
That’s what we’re doing at the Ronald McDonald house right now. Dawn and I are on the committee for the bicycle ride, too. We’re taking a more active role in it and helping them to make it grow. The bike ride takes place at the end of August. They also have a golf outing, and we’ll have two or three teams participating in it. We’re glad that we’re getting more involved with The Ronald McDonald House.
