Roof Replacement in Des Moines, Iowa

Use $8,000 to $18,000 as a planning range for a Des Moines roof replacement. Your written estimate depends on the roof area, pitch, tear-off layers, and materials you choose. Larger or more complex roofs and premium materials can cost more. Decking damage found after tear-off can change the scope, so ask how that work will be priced and approved when you review the estimate.

Bakeris Roofing has been replacing roofs in Des Moines since 1990. We've worked in every neighborhood. The century-old Victorians in Sherman Hill with their steep pitches and decorative gables, the post-war bungalows around Drake, the mid-century ranches on the north side, and the newer builds on the far South Side. Each housing stock has its own quirks, and 36 years in this city has taught us which ones matter.

Our Des Moines replacements use complete system installations, not just shingles. That means synthetic underlayment across the entire deck, ice-and-water shield on every valley and eave (critical for Iowa winters), starter strips, sealed ridge vent, and premium architectural or impact-resistant shingles from Owens Corning, GAF, TAMKO, or Malarkey. The system matters more than any single component. It's what determines whether your roof lasts 20 years or 40.

As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor. Fewer than 1% of roofers nationally hold this. We install the Owens Corning Duration and Duration FLEX systems with the full 50-year System Protection warranty. We also carry every major GAF, TAMKO, and Malarkey line. For Des Moines homeowners who want the highest storm protection, our Class 4 impact-resistant shingle packages may qualify for a policy discount; confirm eligibility with your insurer.

Most Des Moines replacements take 1-2 days. Larger or multi-story homes can stretch to 3. We finish every job with a magnetic nail sweep of your property, a detailed certificate of completion, and a workmanship warranty that stays with the house. Call (515) 967-8199 for a free estimate.
